Charleston, SC – The “Petrel”, owned by Harry Johnson Jr. and captained by John Thomas, held on to the  lead with 2 blue marlin and 4 sailfish to win the 2014 Carolina Billfish Classic “Sportin’ Life”, owned by Manly and Graham Eubank and captained by Mike Glaesner,  held on to 2nd with 2 blue marlin releases and 1200 pts.  “Rascal” owned by Norman Pullium and captained by Mark Rogers came in 3rd with 1 blue marlin and 2 sailfish releases with 1,000 pts.

In the meat fish division “Mister Pete” angler Terry Caulder won the dolphin division with 42.6 lb. “Three J’s” angler Sunshine Rearden won the wahoo division with a 52.4 lb and “Skyed Out” angler John Votaw won the tuna division with a 17.2 lb fish. In the Youth Angler Division Thomas Henry Key (13)  of the “Sportsman” took 1st with a blue marlin release.

Charleston, SC – Leading into Day 3 of the Carolina Billfish Classic the “Petrel”, owned by Harry Johnson Jr. and captained by John Thomas, are holding the lead with 2 blue marlin and 4 sailfish with 2000 pts. The “Sportin’ Life”, owned by Manly and Graham Eubank and captained by Mike Glaesner, is currently sitting in 2nd place with 2 blue marlin releases with 1200 pts. Holding onto third place is “Russell Hatt” owned by Cynthia & Kirkland Russell and captained by Robetr Mintz with 1 blue marlin and 2 sailfish releases with 1,000 pts.

15 boats out of the 28 boat field are fishing today and the weigh in will be LIVE at Toler’s Cove Marina from 5:00 until 7:00 PM with Dinner, Live Music and Awards Presentation at Goldbug Island starting at 7 PM. Join us LIVE at http://pcflive.com/cbc/

VIDEO – 55′ Jarrett Bay "Magic Moment" Struck By Lighting

Morehead City, NC – Captain Freddie Willis and the crew of the 55′ Jarrett Bay “Magic Moment” had a big surprise during Day 2 of the 56th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. Check out the video below and you will see a series of lighting strikes that struck the boat while fishing. You can see it around the 3:00 minute mark.

From what we hear no one was hurt but the boat had to be towed back to Jarrett Bay where they were working on getting the “Magic Moment” back up and running.
